The Tiger

  Auburn Football Practice Report

Sept. 22, 2009

AUBURN, Ala. - After a day off Monday, the Auburn football team returned to the practice fields behind the Athletics Complex Tuesday, working out in shorts for a little less than two hours. The Tigers enjoyed sunny skies after battling rainy weather all of last week.

The team used the practice to begin focusing on Saturday's game against Ball State. After special teams and some individual work, much of the practice focused on working against the scout teams.

Following practice, offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn said he was pleased with the team's focus during the workout.

"It was a good practice," said Malzahn. "I told our guys that I really see our offensive players maturing with their focus. They were really tuned in today, which was very encouraging. I think some of them are growing up and understanding the expectations, because we have to keep improving. We've got to get better each week."

Auburn (3-0) will return to the practice fields Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. CT as the Tigers continue to prepare for Saturday's game against Ball State (0-3). It will be the third meeting all-time between the two schools, with Auburn winning the two previous games in 2001 (30-0) and 2005 (63-3).

Saturday's game will kick off at 6 p.m. CT from Jordan-Hare Stadium. The game will be televised live by FOX Sports South, FOX Sports Southwest, FOX Sports Midwest, FOX Sports Houston and Sun Sports, and on a tape delayed basis on FOX Sports Arizona and FOX Sports West.
