The Yankees pulled off it's fourth victory to seal the deal and take the series over the Philadelphia Phillies in New York Wednesday night. The win marks the 27th World Championship victory in the teams history. Hideki Matsui was named the Series MVP. He had 6 RBIs and was a triple away from hitting the cycle in the final game of the MLB season.

The Philadelphia Eagles will have Brian Westbrook back in the lineup on Sunday when they face the Dallas Cowboys in a key NFC East showdown.
Westbrook missed last week’s Eagles victory over the New York Giants after suffering a concussion the previous week against the Washington Redskins. The running back took a knee to the head in that game and was knocked unconscious.
Westbrook is said to be ready to practice on Wednesday and has shown no symptoms related to the accident.

Boxing referee Lou Filippo has died. Flilppo, a
member of the World Boxing Hall of Fame, died Monday in Los Angeles. He was 83.
The cause of death was not released.
Filippo boxed professionally as a lightweight from
1947 to 1957 before becoming one of the top ring officials and judges. His
referee status led to several television and film appearances, including the
referee part in the last four installments of the Rocky series.
No other details about his death were available.
